Rich and Donna, Jennie and Corey

Rich and Donna's wedding photo.
We both worked at IBM and took our lunch break to get married at the justice of the peace on July 29, 1986.

We have been a team ever since we got married 35 years ago. We've always been pals and willing to work things out.  We found ways to play and have fun.

  1. Hello friends and family. I hope you enjoy viewing these photos of Rich and our life together. We had 35 years together, watched Jennie and Corey grow up, and mostly just had a good time. We built a life and had fun doing it. It would be lovely to see additional posts of what you remember most about Rich. With love. Donna

  2. I remember your wedding day at the JP! I walked over from my downtown job and was so happy to be a witness. I remember a lunch afterwards with Mom and Dad, and a bigger buffet later at Mom and Dad's apartment with Grandma Lucy and Granddaddy. I have pictures I will for to share.

    1. I would love to see the other photos. I remember Mom and Dad but didn't remember meeting up with Grandma and Granddaddy.

  3. Dear Eaton Family and Friends,
Rich was was a great neighbor, friend and fellow cogitator of all things under the sun. I will always remember the days of teaming up to fell, buck, split and stack wood. Never really any discussion of how to divvy our big finds up. Some went here, some went there. The only distinction was that Rich would burn just about anything, and I was a little more picky. I/we could always count on Rich to lend a hand at a moment's notice, and I hope, he felt the same. He was full of endless generosity. Rich will be sorely missed. There's a hole in our hearts, and a hole in the neighborhood that can't be filled. But, we can continue to take care of each other.

    1. I got such a kick out of how you and he would find fallen trees and help give them new purpose heating our winter wood stoves. He enjoyed all the adventures you and he had from tree cleanup to sailing to just hanging out. The photo at the top of this page with him surrounded by tree slices (from Lee's fallen tree) represents how much he liked working with his hands, splitting wood and putting the results of this labor to good use. The time he spent with you was filled with fun and joy.

    1. Hi David and Claire! It's been a while since you helped us explore how an online shopping system might work. Rich and I learned a lot from that experience and were grateful that you and Claire were willing to play along. Look at how things have changed since then. I used Instacart often in the past year. Rich mentioned Claire every once in a while and his interest in her work. It is lovely hearing from you and a pleasure to remember past adventures.

    1. Lisa, it is so good to hear from you and Chris. I remember Jennie at 3 years old at your house, eating grapes. You shared your space with Jennie so me and Rich could go out and play (i.e. go see a movie). I think that's one of the reasons he and I worked - we had fun. I am glad you like the photos. I loved putting them together. They are nice reminders of how much fun we had.

  7. Dear Donna, Jennie & Corey,
My profound condolences to all of you. I remember Rich and our time together at The Derryfield School(DS) from 1974-'78 with great fondess. Rich was a very quiet, incredibly intelligent and gifted student and a tremendous classmate. He had a mischevious wit and a sense of humor that made him really fun to be around. He wore cardigan sweaters before they became vogue, so as it turns out, he was also a fashion guru! Love to see the photos and tributes of Rich and your life together. Our world and lives have been enriched by this quiet, gentle and good man.

    1. Hi Dave. Thanks for the glimpse into Rich's high school days. I heard a lot about the Derryfield School. I chuckled at the 'fashion guru' comment. Rich would have gotten a kick out of that. I knew him as 'willfully mismatched' in his clothing style.
